Better pain treatment is possible
Nerve block catheters can keep pain away for days after surgery. Yet after more than 30 years of clinical use, they are still rarely used, because placing one is slow, fiddly and unreliable.
We founded Nordstar Medical in Copenhagen in March 2024 to change that. As clinicians and engineers, we are building a catheter that any anaesthesiologist can place as quickly as a single-shot block, so the choice comes down to what is best for the patient.
Our team

Tore is a biomedical designer and inventor with a track record in medtech innovation. He co-founded Droplet IV and served as its Co-CEO, and now contributes as a board member. The company won the Danish Tech Challenge 2022 and secured funding from the BioInnovation Institute.

Martin has more than 18 years of experience in medical product development, at larger Danish companies and at startups. He is an inventor on patents held by Coloplast and Romer Lab, including the patent behind Coloplast's best-selling SpeediCath (US10758704B2).

Jakob has 25 years of experience as a project leader and product developer. He has worked in every project phase, from early concept development to high-volume production on a global scale.

Thomas was previously director of DMS Moulding Production at Novo Nordisk. In 2018 he acquired the medtech manufacturer Meditec and exited to SP Group in 2022. He is Managing Director of SP Meditec, sits on the board of Egholm A/S, and supports Nordstar Medical part time.

Ahmed is a medical student with experience in health innovation and early-stage venture building. He has worked on product development, market validation and commercialisation of tech-driven solutions.

Max Terpager
Active investor, international sales expertise
Max is a serial entrepreneur who has started, owned and run companies in the life science space. For more than 20 years he has been CEO of the holding company K90 ApS, and he serves on the boards of several companies, including L90 A/S, with a focus on strategy, sales and governance.
